  1. Bates College
    The college is accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching American Chemical Society. They offer to students bachelors in arts and sciences. The most popular majors at Bates are economics, psy-chology, biology, English, political science, history, and environmental studies.
  2. Bowdoin College
    Bowdoin is an independent, nonsectarian, coeducational residential, undergraduate liberal arts institution. The college offers programs in Africana Studies Program, Asian Studies Program, Gay and Lesbian Studies Program, Senior Center Program,and Women's Studies Program.

    The college's graduate degree, Master of Fine Arts in Studio Arts program, is a two year program designed for emerging artists. Early College at Maine College of Art provides an exciting and challenging opportunity for approximately 45 motivated high school students to explore their creativity and earn college credit in a four-week intensive visual arts program.
  9. Maine Maritime Academy
    The Academic Division of Maine Maritime Academy is comprised of 7 departments, which function as adminsitrative units for the organization of faculty, curriculum, and academic support services: Arts & Sciences, Engineering, Thompson School of Marine Transportation, Naval Science, Corning School of Ocean Studies, Library Services and Loeb-Sullivan School of International Business & Logistics. MMA now offers Army ROTC in an affilliation agreement with UMaine.

    NMCC offers programs of study, including options and concentrations, leading to the associate in applied science degree, the associate in science degree, or the associate in arts degree.
